I have a 92 s10 blazer 2 door and the oil cooler lines blew up I've taken off the cooler and now I'm trying to put the filter back onto the block. I cannot find a adapter part that fits. if you had something work for you let me know.

Remove the adapter from the block (2 bolts), unscrew the filter nipple from the adapter & simply screw that nipple directly into the block. Filter will screw on easily, but make sure you scrape all the old gasket material from the area where the filter o-ring seats.

I’m not sure what you mean when I took the plate off for the oil cooler there is no screw it’s just a threaded hole and 2 holes to screw the cooler plate back on

It's on the rear of the block. The pic above is from a 4wd and that's the front drive shaft on the left. Makes it a tad tricky getting the filter off and back on.
The nipple can be hard to unscrew from the adapter w/o messing up the threads. I cut one adapter with a cut off wheel to real close to the nipple and then cracked it. It's aluminum and cracks easily. You won't hurt the steel nipple. I've seen some nipples with a big hex hole inside for a big allen wrench. 3/8", IIRC. Might be bigger.

So are you saying I have the adapter? I don’t see how I would unscrew it

Just checked it has no hex. There is no way to unscrew anything as is I think I would need something that would screw on I’ve tried gm part 14081300 and when I screw that in it sits flush with the mating surface so there are no threads for the filter to grab onto then I’ve tried looking for Stuff that bolts into those holes like the Al star 920000 but I can’t find one that fits my engine there all to big

You sure you screwed it in right side up? Looks like the flange would keep it from screwing too far in?

I just got one of those in the mail and went to mount it up and it didn’t even go into the block so I could bolt it it says it’s for a small block Chevy but I guess not the 4.3
That's weird. I did the same thing you're trying to do, and I used the GM 14081300 that OCGG posted. It worked perfectly, with no issues. But mine is a 2000, so it may have changed.

I took the oil cooler off my truck when I rebuilt the motor, they always leaked after a while and didn't make that much difference in temps. I don't remember but...... I think I unscrewed the oil filter fitting from the aluminum piece that went to the oil cooler and screwed it into the block. Haven't had any problems since. I might have bought a new one, Its been 15yrs. * the cooler lines
