My brother has a '93 S-10 - regular cab, shortbed, with 4.3l V6/4L60e.

The gas tank has a leak at the bottom - due to rust in the strap area. The tank measures in the upper 30's (inches)....don't recall exactly.

A friend of mine has an extra tank out of a '98 - also measures in the upper 30's". Will this tank work in the '93?? Looks real similar.

as far as fitting goes im not sure. but i just changed the tank on my 93 and it was a real pain. u might wanna try this in either the first or second gen forums. good luck!

no it wont man there are different fittings and holes on top ---not worth the headache i did my i had the 20 gallon tank ....and if i had to go and redo it all over again i would pull the bed ---because i think the lines on top are done with the bed off ...no good way to attach the lines with the bed on...i ended up going nuts and chopped a hole in my bed to get at them ...that fixed it also i couldn't get the straps to work at ALLL!! so i had to get 3/4-1 added on teh straps good luck either way you go about it
