My brother has a problem on his turbo350 after a couple of gaskets and too much tranny fluid we have finally found the leak to be coming from the thottle linkage. There is supposed to be a seal there and I will assume the pan needs to comes off but will I have to drop the valve body? And will I need a special tool to press it in? Or is it a more invloved operation? Appreciate any help

i had the same problem and it took me a couple shots befor i got it right.
first off no u dont have to take the pan off if u can get acces to the bolt that holds it on(which is a stupid desighn in the first place, its just asking to leak) anyways just unscrew it disconecct the top of the kickdown cable from the throttle linkage. then go back underneith and pull on the cable till you see a small hook on the end that hooks to a stiff wire, it should come out just far enough to get the hook off. then just seperate them and place the seal in the THROTTLE CABLE BOOT(i didn't the first time) then reatch and seal up then your done
