just picked it up on tuesday for $3000. it has 98xxx miles, and was well cared for.
im going to fix all the little things wrong with it, and install an intrepid fan i have laying around.
needs an intake boot, wiper blades, valve cover gaskets (just starting to weep), a temp sender, map lamp cover, a cluster lamp or 2, fuel filter and maybe a cap and rotor. the previous owner just did oil change, radiator, oil lines, water pump, hoses, motor mounts and rear main less than a thousand miles ago. i think it needs a pressure reg or nut kit. it idles just a little rough and is hard to start when it gets warm. i put my pressure gauge on it today and it dropped a pound every 7-10 seconds after the key is turned off. other than that it runs fantastic, i scared my wife and left double lines on a friends street.

the only dent

tires are in good shape, but the are cheapys. i want to get some 16 or 17" rims and tires in a few thousand miles.

interior is good except the rip

engine bay is very clean for its age. no leaks... except the a/c

so the a/c doesnt work, heres why... pressure switch leaking

today i replaced the intake boot. it was really floppy and tore up, dry rotted etc. cleaned the butterfly and intake temp sensor while i was in there.

the temp gauge doesnt work, i found the wiring had come loose from its "bullshit" clip and was rubbing the steering shaft. the sender is bad too.

testing the cluster with a restistor, it read what it should

you can see how close it all is

it comes with a cassette! its some 70's porn music with a nice couple explaining how to use an s10 and all the features lmao

Nice find. My first s10 was a 95 ss. Black. I dropped it 2 more inches, tonneau cover, 16" Centerlines, custom pinstripes, amp& sub, billet grill, roll pan. It would smoke all the fullsize 350tbi's around. I had it for 1.5 years. It was cool...until someone stole it.

It's just information for the truck. I see them every now and then at the junk yards with some of the older trucks.
yup
its just the owner manual read aloud with some common sense info thrown in there and some background music. maybe ill go record a minute of it for fun.

thanks for all the compliments! im very happy with it, the more i drive it, the more i like it. ive always owner blazers and entended cabs. this is my first standard cab short bed. that along with the zq8 steering box makes all the difference in the world. it parks like a car.

this morning i rehung the rear view mirror, fixed the temp gauge that wasnt actually broken, more on that later, repaired the wiring, and replaced some split loom, and discovered the battery hold down was missing. i noticed and remembered the control arm bushings are new too, standard moog stuff. looks like it might need an idler arm as well, i have a good one layin around somewhere.

the reading lights even work

the hold down from my 86 s15 is an exact replacement. im relocating the batt in the 86, so no need for it. and can anyone tell me what that cut wire coming out of that connector is?

so i fixed the temp gauge wiring and got a new sender, i plugged the new sender in and boiled a cup of water. stuck the sender in the water, with a ground clip of course, and the temp gauge read 180. the water had cooled off a little... drained the coolant, replaced the sender, filled it back up, and took her for a drive. still wont get above 130-140 ish. so the sender was never bad, the motor just isnt getting up to temp. i wonder if a thermostat is stuck open or maybe someone thought it didnt need one.

i lied about my dents, i found another one upon closer inspection, and a bunch of chips on the pass side of the bed.

and there is tar or urethane on each bottom corner of the tail gate and the suspender cables. i have a big can of goo gone.

i got underneath to take a really good look, everything looks great and clean except the y-pipe. the passenger side collector end looks like it got smashed. it so "clean" it looks like it was done from the factory for clearance issues but there is no need, and from what i can from the pics on lmctruck, its not supposed to be there. either way, anyone know where to get a decent y-pipe with something like a 3" outlet.

I don't think that wire goes to anything, it like a blank just to fill the hole.
thats kind of what i was thinking, that part on the assembly line get clipped depending on the model or something like that.
