I was headed down the highway in the right lane when traffic came to a sudden stop. I was barely able to make the stop behind the driver in front of me, but apparently the guy behind me never hit the brakes. He threw me from the right lane to the left lane, about two car lengths ahead before it felt like the rear wheels hit the ground. And I somehow missed hitting the guy in front of me.

That bottle of washer fluid pretty much exploded all over the tools/equipment I had in the trunk lol

You were unhurt?

Looks like that car did exactly what it was supposed to and protected you. Nice looking "crumple" on the RR, did exactly as designed.

Yea, i was Ok. I went to the hospital just in-case since it was on company time. I was really sore for a few days, but they gave me some meds to take care of that. I also have a new appreciation for the giant headrests in cars these days, if it was any lower, I think I would be hurting a lot more. The seat was bent back pretty far afterwards.

I think since the rear of my car was probably higher than normal since I was braking hard, some of the force from the impact was deflected in other directions. I'm thankful it wasn't any worse than it was.

Wow, GM continues to make one hell of a large FWD sedan. (I should upload pictures here of the 88, forgot there was a wrecked rides section.)

It took the impact well and kept you safe. Glad you're just sore, could be so much worse.

You could probably massage that rear urethane bumper and sell it on ebay as ''lightly used"

You wouldn't see an older car come out of an impact like that with two pearly looking tail lights either.

On fourth of july a few years ago The stop ligt had just turned green and was going around 15mph when a newer Camry rear ended me pretty hard. I felt it go under my bumper and lift the wheels off the ground and felt the back end swivel on her hood and my tires screech on touch down. It rolled her hood back like a sardine can but no damage to my truck.
