Went this morning to pay for this truck but the title and bill wan't ready yet. Bummed out because I was up at 5am to leave and got half way there but he is gonna bring it to me and save me some $$$ on having it towed. It is a mess right now along with it doesn't run. It has 210k miles with a laundry list of things that it needs.

1994-1997. white, red, black. 4.3L automatic. 2" lowered suspension and 16" rims. this defines the SS. nice score, can't wait to see it doing smoky burnouts. 4.3's dont jump mechanical timing too often, I'd check out the dizzy gear and ignition timing. also pull spark plugs, check for lower intake leakage - hydrolock. then put a 6.2s/c in it.

I got the rpo papers from the dealer yesterday and it is a true ss. I'm a mechanic and have worked on enough of the 4.3s to hope that it is a cap or gear problem but i am buying not knowing. I sold all my LS parts so I won't di a motor swap unless it is another 4.3 .

It runs!! A new cap and rotor fixed it. The plugs were fouled out but clear flood mode got it going. Just changed the oil and a little antifreeze came out so it looks like intake gaskets are in order before it hits the road. The trans slipped a bit but the trans fluid isn't even touching the stick so Im gonna drop the pan and replace the filter. Teh bad I have found it that there is a silver dollar hole in the CAI tube after the MAF so it has been sucking air and dirt for a long time. It was rubbing on the master cylinder. The y pipe is bent under the trans so that is another thing to get fixed. Over all I am happy!

Just a few pics from today.. I was expecting to see a lot worse in the pan. The fluid was not touching the stick when I took it on a test drive before changing the filter and fluid. Still has a little flare up in 3rd but not under light throttle.

You can see the bend in the y pipe, but has a nice high flow cat on it. I have a few spare mufflers that I might use on the truck for now.

How the truck sits as of now, rides like a log truck

what has been done to the rear suspension? undo it. lol
Already ordered some air shocks to get me by. He put 3" blocks and it only has the main leaf and overload leaf. Rides like pure crap but my boys thinks its fun to bounce down the driveway lol.
