:bash: I SEEN IN SPORTRUCK MAGAZINE THAT THERE IS A CAM FROM COMP CAMS THAT GIVES 42HP AND IS SMOG LEGAL. HAS ANYBODY INSTALLED ONE OF THESE AND HOW HAPPY ARE YOU WITH IT?

Do you have a 4.3? If so what year? The reason is because in '92 they used a balanced shaft to dampen the harmonics in the engine and they used a different cam which is almost impossible to find an upgrade. From early '92 down they didn't use the shaft and cams are very accessible. As long as its an early engine a cam would be a nice upgrade. 43 horse might be a little exagerated but it will make a difference.

News to me. When I was looking to get a cam for my '92, I was having a hell of a time because everything I found was for a non-shaft motor. Are these cams higher priced? Isn't there an extra gear at the front of the cam to run the shaft?
