I posted a few weeks ago. 85 s10 blazer not going into 4WD. found the vacumm server and it is actuating when in 4w, but no drive to wheels. when i go in or out of 4WD, i hear a clunk and some other noise like rrrrrrrclunk when going back to 2wd.

what is supposed to happen inside the tube? is there a simple fix? i am not afraid to tackle a big job, but never worked on front 4WD axle before. can someone explain this to me as if i were 16 yrs old?

Do what I did. Do a SFA swap, lol. Your actuator may not fully engage. Before I did away with the IFS I put a clamp on the actuator to hold it closed and it worked like a champ. Yes you have to raise the hood to engage and disengage but give it a try and see if this this truly your problem before you go to giving your money to someone to even look at it.
