Hi everyone. In 2014 I did a SAS on my 2002 zr2 (79 f250 d44 up front, 2001 chevy 1500 HD disc brake rear diff). I have daily drove since then. It was a bit to tall for me so lowered it last week soley by going spring under axle (vs spring over axle it has been for the past 8ish years). It drives even better now.
The issue is that the rear is now about 2-3 at the wheel well to low for my liking. If i revert the rear back to spring over, ill be gaining about 7.5” of lift (again at the wheel well) which would look and likely drive pretty silly being so much higher in the rear compared to the front.
My question is, do I have any options besides a shackle lift in the rear (which isnt great.. but seems like the only option). New lift springs are an option but with the age of the truck now, im not looking to put a bunch more money into it.
Please dont limit the options to just bolt on stuff. Considering I did the complete sas myself and lowered it myself last week, its fair to say im very handy and capable of making it work with whatever ideas you guys had.
Thanks
-Posted here because the SAS part of it doesnt really factor into the question… the rear is functionally the stock set up just with a different diff.
