Hello, guys!

It might sound stupid but what would happen if I changed my gaskets with marine application instead of regular on-road application?

Are marine parts tougher/more resistant/heavy duty or quite the contrary?

I'm just trying to build a "bullet-proof" truck.

Thanks in advance!

Nothing really. Marine gaskets are just about the same, but they cost more. The 4.3L was pretty ok on all gaskets except the lower intake. all the Vortec family had lower intake gasket issues. I replaced mine with the composite Fel-Pro set. It was more $$$ than the standard set but the silicone bead was nicer looking and with no steel in it to corrode, they will last a good long while.
