Both could be true. It could be good or bad.
I heard that they won't run if you unplug them.
run with the MAP sensor unplugged
an engine will run when senros go bad/die. They want to make sure you can get to the dealer for repairs, or off to the side of the road safely. The problem, will get worse and cost much more if you dont fix the bad sensor. So, in your case, your vehicle will not only run less efficiently without the readings from the MAP sensor, but you'll have terrible MPGs and that alone can kill a catalytic converter

Thanks.I saw the on Youtube.
You can get a new one on rockauto for <$20. Also a MAP sensor is different from a MAF sensor.
Took 6 posts for someone to point out that video has nothing to do with a MAP sensor.
If you don't know a MAP sensor from a MAF sensor you probably shouldn't be messing around under the the big flat flap thing that's between the front fenders.

Not quite. He edited his post and added the video after posts were made.
Missed the "(edited)".
Point remains, it's best to know one sensor from another before you start replacing stuff.
Will seafoam cause the MAP sensor to get dirty and mess up.If it is put in the gas tank?

Borrowing a scanner to see live MAP (etc) data would go a long way to eliminate unknowns vs hunting for 'needle in haystack' approach.

Amen That.....
Seafoam? Your trying to fix a problem with a can of snake oil. Seafoam is known to cause all kinds of problems.

Just water can ruin MAF IF wetted when engine running.. Seafoam is helpful cleaning crud from direct injection intakes that don't also have a port injection system. Provided mfg's guide is followed.

What is the problem you are having? Are you getting a code for the MAP sensor?

No,I was having long crank time when it is warm.Starts great first thing, and after it sits for 5 hours.Put a FPR on.It started this after I put seafoam in the gas tank a few monthes ago.
If it has trouble starting after heat soak I would focus more on coolant temp sensor or fuel pump issues. It's very unlikely you have a map or maf issue.
