Take it to autozone, they should be able to do it for you. I don't know the "pump gas 5 fives time, honk twice, turn radio up, lay the seats back" way of doing it.
The only other way would be to take it to the dealer or a shop that has a diagnostics scanner. Unhooking the battery wont work because its stored in the computers RAM. Heres the prob... if whatever set the light off is still not right, then it will come right back on. You can find out whats wrong by using the scanner also. But thats not cheap depending on where you go. Autozone may be able to reset it and diagnose it for nothing, but I dont think I would trust their call on that.
the service engine soon light doesnt come on when you need to change the oil. the light you are seeing means that the computer has found something wrong. autozone can scan it to let you know why the light is on
