My Nephew is the painter, I have a friend that does body work. Both guy' s are not for hire, but trade out labor. I'm the grunt guy for removing/hanging doors, fenders and the hood.Nice job on the paint,WOW I always wanted to learn to paint,I have the gun and everything just never got to it. The wrap is a somewhat new thing, well maybe not but Your truck looks great. Are you doing the wrap or is someone doing it for you?
Thank You!!!I am so jealous lol LOOKS FANTASTIC!!!
I have no place to paint and those that do want an arm and a leg!!!!!

Still you arre looking Good. I got about 65% completed on my wrap this weekend.Got the fenders and doors on it. The damn hood is off the alignment and we cant close the hood. My Nephew is blaming the aftermarket D/S fender...

Yes it was, but as the old GIJoe cartoon used to say. Knowing is half the battle! So when you don't know what should be done, you don't actually get anywhere. We spent 2.5 hours trying different things for what was really 20 minutes of work.Glad you guys got the hood lined up. Sounded like it was a big pain at first.
You got that right!!! My nephew really needed it to go home yesterday. His phone has been blowing up with paying jobs.. This has taken too much time, but he was supposed to start early September. Instead he got started in late October. I wanted some drive time before cold weather. That's not gonna happen now, but life doesn't always go exactly as planned. So now the bed/grill & bumper won't get painted until spring.I just watched an episode of Bitchin' Rides where they're working on a 64 Caddilac. The went to reinstall the hood and it was way out of whack. They tried a bunch of different things, then they put the inner fenders in and if fit like a charm. The hood is a city block long, and all of the stress was being borne by the fenders bringing them inboard.
Not that that was your problem, just pointing out sometimes the simplest things cause a headache.
This will give you time to get some Dyna Mat on the inside. You got that right!!! My nephew really needed it to go home yesterday. His phone has been blowing up with paying jobs.. I have a medium grey multi color metallic Toyota paint code 1H1. I am going to use that for the front bumper & grill. Now I am having second thoughts about painting the bumper grey metallic. It will set the truck apart from any other truck out there, but it may be a little to much. So if it turns out that way, it's real easy to recoat to the black...

Thank you for your comment, been really working hard getting this old beast back in shape. HankResiding in state w/ cold, salty winters, I have considerable appreciation for vehicles that have no apparent, “top-side” rust with paint that looks really good from more than a few feet away.
Thank you for your comment, have a happy Thanksgiving. Please enjoy today's foto. HANK^^^^^^^WOW very nice, you did a great job. Skills brother skills.....
An observation and something to ponder. There are several compliments on this thread, and while not specific, might (or, maybe not) actually be in response to the original posting about the truck painting project, rather than yours, which is a vinyl wrap project. Albeit a nice job, and extensively documented, perhaps just referencing or linking your thread on the wrap would be more efficient, rather than permeating others' threads with repetitive photos of yours.Thank you for your comment, have a happy Thanksgiving. FWIW, I'd go for the 1H1 paint for the bumpers. It ought to make a nice contrast to the great paint job on the body. And the nice feature is that if you aren't pleased with the outcome, it's pretty easy (and relatively inexpensive) to reshoot them to match the body (or maybe a nice glow in the dark hot pink! You got that right!!!
