I'm usually over in the LSX discusssion or Transmission and rear-end. My personal LS10 sway had cab corners and rockers put in in Sept of 2018. At that time we changed the whole course of the swap to include a new paint job. It sat for a year while I gathered parts. Part of the changes were including a Aluminum short block find for $200. I wanted a mild cam anyway, which really required a engine rebuild. Spring 2019 it got 4 wheel blazer disc brakes.
Covid hit us and then back order parts from covid. My nephew the paint guy didn't want to paint until the gear train was in. So in April of this year B/O parts started showing up. Motor and Transmission and I have finally got some paint done. it will be spring before I can drive it.
Don't laugh it's a home garage paint job. It's not going to be a show truck.

The cab is first, then he wants to jam out the doors, fender & hood. Bed was to rusty to keep so I found another.
Here are some pictures of the cab.

zero wrong with garage paint jobs, ive done several SEMA and magazine truck paint jobs right here at my house.
Some of the greatest customizers whom ever lived have done the exact same thing..

all it takes is pride in your work.

all three in this picture were done right here in my garage...

I would not laugh in condescension, but maybe in appreciation. Residing in state w/ cold, salty winters, I have considerable appreciation for vehicles that have no apparent, “top-side” rust with paint that looks really good from more than a few feet away. The rear bumper & end caps I painted w/ custom filled, base aerosol cans and other 2k aerosol cans year or so ago need more like 15’. Why the extra brace between the front box mounts?

The ZQ8 trucks have them…at least the SS models. I would assume all ZQ8 trucks came equipped with them.

Doors, fenders & hood got jammed out today. Not really a lot to see here though. Now on to the outer panel parts that show... We are running out of warm weather, so we changed plans to paint the panels off the vehicle and then mount them. I'll post more as we go along.

I am currently doing a black gloss wrap job on my truck, only costing me $500. Check out the photos.

Here is how the fenders and doors turned out. Got a couple of bugs because we had to paint at night. So we have a little work to do for those. Overall I'm well pleased, my nephew is not as happy. Sorry about the 2 blurry pics had to hold the camera above my head. I'm hoping he will let me put it together next week...

I researched my wraps before I selected. This is Vivvid Ultra Gloss Piano Black supposed to be closer to actual paint in gloss than any other wrap. Pretty close I'm thinking. See reflection in a actual wrap photo.
