LS Current Performance Base Tune

I have a 5.7 LS1 with a Current Performance ECU/harness. No big power adding mods have been made to the engine. I don't know a whole lot about tuning so I don't know how much of a difference a professional tune would make compared to the base tune the ECU came loaded with. Does anyone have any experience with this? Should I leave the base tune or would it be worth the $300+ to get it tuned?

Gents, I am currently using the base tune from current performance. I have a 1993 s10 with 6.2L/manual from 2015 camaro. I used current performance for their wiring harness, which is top notch quality. Since they were building such and I need vats removed etc, I decided to let them do the base tune as well. To date, the tune has worked great. Not saying I got peak hp, but it starts and purrs like a kitten cold or hot. With stock motor, I have plenty to spin the tires thru the gears.

Now, I do have Hooker midlength headers, CAI, and hooker full exhaust. Not sure if a custom tune will gain me much??? (if anyone has similar such, curious what hp they got)

But to date , I am happy with such. Keep in mind, I build this truck in about 2 months or so......

Just my input gents....
