1000 million times worth it to have it fully dyno tuned. Don't use some cheap $300 mail in tune either. There is no way those are 100% correct for your vehicle. They'll get you close, but you could be missing 50hp for no reason. I do tuning. But I still have my tunes put on the dyno for the final runs so I can 'see' what's going on. Expect to pay at least $600 for a good reliable dyno tuner. My last tune, less then 45 days ago, was $750.
I have a guy that said just $350 for a Dyno tune... Interesting.
It is hard to believe you pickup up a 75 hp gain on a stock L33. I did a search and most guys were saying 15 hp with a stock engine. Was you gain after adding LS6 intake, dual exhaust etc?
Well, if you’re cheap, I can understand that. But nowhere in my sentence did I say I paid for a stock engine to be tuned. And I’m not belittling you, merely stating the fact that things cost differently in various parts of the country. Also, labor costs money, $750 for a full day of custom tuning is actually pretty cheap. But, again, were not talking about stock drivetrains here.
You did a search? The guy literally told you how much he gained, and he has the dyno sheet to prove it. But, the internet says no, can’t be true, so it must not be. Again, not belittling you, but, you should spend some time at the local dyno shop and make some friends. There is a reason good, reliable tuners can get what they do from stock combos. The factory settings have been proven to be underrated to make a 100,000 mile warranty last.
I agree, and Rhotpursuit's L33 has free flow exhaust, LS6 intake...but I was referencing a stock 5.3. I find it hard to believe the factory would leave 75 hp un-tapped.
