I have a 99' ext cab with 125,000 miles on it. I am replacing the lower control arm bushings and the lower balljoint as well. I was told that the lower ball joint has to be pressed in as well as the new lower bushings. That means I have to take the lower arms to a machine shop to get them pressed in. The problem with that is that this truck is my one and only daily driver. I can't have the truck down for even a day. Is there anyway I can press out the old and press in the new myself? Thanks.

go to your local automotive supply store and buy the parts and rent a ball joint press, a bushing press and buy a long pry bar. i have done it and it is a pain in the @$$, but can be done in one day. the first side is the worst, as that is the learning curve side.

i will stress that it is a pain in the ass, i dont want to lie to you.

oh, and buy a long pry bar!

Gotcha. Thanks for the warning. I have all the parts already. In fact, I bought everything to re-do the entire front end of the truck. I'll go and get the ball joint and busing press. Thanks again.
