So I am new to this forum, but not a noob to forums, so yes I have searched a lot of the already posted threads of door leaks and the like. But, I have not found anything on the small thin rubberized/vinyl that is on the forward door edge. This piece helps to eliminate the wind whistle where the door meets the winshield weather strip. However, no matter where I have searched, I cannot find a part number or any type of replacement that might work. I am attaching a picture of where it is placed on the inside edge of the front doors. The previous owner tried to fix the water leak issue and evidently messed this part up bad. (FYI.... the water leak problem is easily fixed by pulling off the water lip edge, cleaning off the old 3M double sided tape, and reapplying the drip edge with new 3M tape. Oh and keeping up with door hinge pin kits like I eat a roll of Lifesavers.)

Anywho...... if anyone might have some information on a part number or maybe a decent replacement idea, I would appreciate it. I've been in the automotive parts business for over 20 years and this is the first time I've really been stumped on finding something.

Take Care!

I'm sure you want more help, but I have found the part number for it before. Like @bk2life suggested call or stop in at the dealer. It may or may not be available new with the age of these trucks now.

The other option is to browse around the dealer part sites. I like GM Parts Prime because they list discontinued parts, but other sites like www.wholesalegmpartsonline.com have better pictures to help.

Thanks Fellas,
Yeah, I've checked with two dealerships and they could not get me even a part number. Another parts guy thought that maybe it was a recall that was added later after the complaints of whistle and wind noise, and this was GM's answer to the issue. Thank you again for responding, glad to see that there is good activity on this forum. I plan to be around for a while.

So Update!!! I was able to finally track down a part number after numerous phone calls and a few emails that were responded to.

The part is actually called F Protector - GM (19206152) and is still relatively available for under $10 each.

I'm ordering a set this week and will update further.

Thanks again for the input.

Shows us which design you get, on my 2000 Bravada, it was a flat long piece of rubber, went to the junk yard and found one that is kind of "L" shaped that follows the contour of the door where it meets the door seal and windshield seal. Will upload a photo soon.

Also, searching the web with the provided part # yielded a blog about this door strip you were talking about.
