I've started chasing this driveline vibration I've had since I bought the vehicle a couple years ago. It is somewhat torque and vehicle speed related.
I went and had the u-joints replaced and the driveshaft balanced, and I thought I had it because the drive shaft was a little out of round and definitely out of balance.
So I had it repaired and the vibration got a little better, but it still remained.
When I reinstalled the driveshaft, I had noticed that the slip yoke into the transfer case seemed to have a bit of play. That led me to think that the bushing in the extension house is worn out. So I thought, "Great, so I'll just buy one and replace it." but that didnt turn out to be so cut and dry.
Ok so now I'm here trying to see if anyone can help me make sure I get the right part.
I consulted the service manual and it didn't even mention that bushing to exist, not even shown on the exploded parts diagram. However I do see it listed in another parts diagram I found online.
Heres the one I found online: https://www.drivetrain.com/
I can't read which number it is (maybe 67?), but its in the top right hand corner of the second image on the bottom of the page.
I'll attach a PDF of the service manual diagram.
I also did find this on RockAuto. I believe this is the right part, but I just do not know for sure. It says FRT SLIP YOKE, which I can assume only could be for the slip yoke on the rear driveshaft. The front drive shaft doesn't plunge into the differential or transfer case, it plunges using a CV joint on the differential side of the shaft.
Any insight is welcome!
Thank you
