Do I just install the lift blocks and that is all or do I have to do some modification to the transmission and or shifter? A lot of mixed answers. Thank you

Are you talking about a body lift? Because leaf spring blocks lower these trucks. The axle is over the spring.

Unless you move the springs to the top of the axel...it won't work.

Assuming you're talking about a body lift, you should be able to download the installation instructions from the manufacturer of the kit you plan to use. Do that and read them. That's the best way to see what all is involved.
