I have swapped a 1999 4.3 ltr block with a 2003 4.3 ltr block, has anyone converted the 2 wire knock sensor to the single wire
sensor for the 1999 s10 4x4.I would appreciate any help with this matter
thanks

the two wire knock sensor is not compatible with the 99 PCM.
the one and two wire sensors produce entirely different waveforms.

the 99 PCM can't process the signals from a 2wire KS.

from what I understand, the newer (2001-up?) PCM's
can be used with either type of sensor if it's tune is
programmed correctly for it.

the usual method to install a one wire sensor on an 01- up
4.3L is to drill and tap the hole in the block for a (I think)
1/4-18 NPT.
if the engine is already in the truck, doing this in the stock KS
location would be just about impossible. just relocate the sensor
to either one of the block drain plug holes, or the holes in the side
of the cylinder heads, which are already the correct thread size.

you could also possibly bypass the knock sensor by installing a 100K ohm
resistor to the KS lead and grounding the other end.
of course, this would prevent the PCM from compensating for
any detonation that occurs, but probably wouldn't hurt anything.
