Is there a big diffrence with the K&N filter which goes in your factory airbox compared to their filtercharger kit which replaces the factory box?(the cone filter) If anyone knows pleae respond.
As far as the filter goes, no. But the factory airbox is in itself rather restrictive so if you can loose that, go for it. Besides, no one that looks under the hood of your truck will take you too seriously if you still have the stock airbox.
I put a K&N filter for the factory airbox in. I didnt notice any power difference. The only benefit is it will last you ALOT longer than regular air filters.
I replaced the stock-box wit the K&N FIPK. I didnt notice any huge gain in power either, but the throttle response was a hell of a lot better. Also being able to hear the air intake allows you to regulate your trottle better, as to not waste too much gas. I think the upgrade is worth the cost. Igot mine for about $230.
