I have a JVC KD-SH99, and when I got it, I seem to remember something about a cell phone muting feature.

Am I thinking another deck, or does it have this feature?

Also, If so, how does it work? I don't see any place to hook up a kit or anything.

Its prob just a wire in the deck harness. It was intended to be hooked up to the cell phone mute wire on a true hands free car kit. I know pioneer made a device that you could buy and wire in and it would detect phone signal and then activate the mute. If I remember right it worked with any brand that had the cell phone mute option.

Its model # CD-CM1, I checked with a local shop and it will work with any deck that has a cell phone mute wire. They have used it on all the brands they carry.

Would this mute wire just be on the back of the harness with the power/speaker wires?

It comes directly off the deck if you have it like my Premier Deck

But mine is a JVC. So I guess it doesn't have this feature as there is no extra wire.
