And got a quote for rebuilding back of frane rails, full box, 1/4" plate , he was not feeling my "lowes has metal,I'll supply the duct tape?" Idea on the repair:
I DID manage to persuade the left rail QUITE a bit!...
And we didn't discuss body work or paint, as I'm pretty sure he knows how to " camo" fluently.. So bottom line, he Said " start around 2k, not more than 3k"...maybe I'm dumb but I was expecting a bit lower than "mot more than 3." I reckon if I was driving my old bimmer or something, itd make more sense to me. Just simply because you crack a taillight on that thing and the power seats go out....i just see 2 UNBOXED basically C Channel frane rails thT dont need to be factory in my application? I need 1: sone metal i can drill hokes in and mount the bumper, 2. Sone shackle mounts pretty accurately placed if possible, 3. Order those and shackles and leaf kits..., Maybe a bunper? I just dont see 3k, when i can get a nrand new shiny complete rail kit us 1400?? :::
Oh. I got to installing my head unit, those metra kits (2 different models,) fought me tooth, nsilgun, dewalt geat gun, WAGNER heat gun 4 quick clamps, a 4" drywall knife, an actual knife. A dremel, and a 2x4 fir stretching...to get this sucker to sit halfway right. Their quality is 100% NOT metras top priority..but kinda neat
