the frame isnt cracked all the way though so it didnt move to much

Ill tig up all the cracks then im going to put a 3/16" plate from the front body mount to the rear one. going to do it on pass side too, even tho it isnt cracked.

probly going to do a plate along the bottom as well. and just leave the inside

ill try to get some pics when I do it. its going to be a task to get it to follow the contours of the frame, heat it up and I hope I have enough bessy clamps

I havent figured out what Ill do for the steering box holes yet tho

Incase anyone was wondering,
It broke from winching a 4 runner up a hill and the only way to reach him was to put driver side tire up against a tree... turned the wheel to the pass side a little to hard lol apparently my steering set up is stronger than my frame lol

wont do that again.

Dude, that sucks! I hope keeping my cross member prevents that from ever happening to mine.

deff would help
I just should have backed up a tiny bit from the tree and blocked both tires for a better pull on the 4 runner, heavyer than I thought it would be for sure.

I do have a sight change in plans just going to weld the cracks up for now....
not really a end all fix but we are going to the camp this weekend and my GF does not want to bring her car even though it can make the drive on the dirt road.

so im going to drill holes at the end of the cracks to make a radius and then weld it.

next pay im going to plate the fame and add a cross member like Donahue

two weekends ago I Tig welded the cracks back up and the plating on the sides all is done, just need to put on a strip on the bottom, I decided not to half ass it because it could cause more problems.

BY the way, Its a pain in the ass to curve that plate to fit just to let every one know.

I did go on a weekend run with out my bottom plate but 3/16s on the sides is strong enough.

heres the only clip I got from the weekend. two full days of wheelen and this is the only clip I have of my jimmy.

I need a bigger battery, it dies like half way thought the day always.

not very exciting, the first guy(no on clip) had such a hard time getting up I thought I would tape. it was a pice of pie

first rig had sbc 350 with qutrajet, the red jeep has 401 AMC and one tones awesome rig. and the black jeep after the ZJ has a good working 350 just crap tires

anyone wanna tell me how to embed videos from photobucket

some one hit a tree the other week too

darn trees

this is a old one but they want way to much for a window... might of found a parts truck not to far away.

the tape on the side window is called hurricane tape best stuff ever its been on there for a month. duct tape does not last half as long, no matter what brand. this stuff is like a tarp with adhesive on it

thought Id throw some pics up. the truck is being sent back in to the swamp garage until all issues are fixed. most likely no more wheelen till spring.

I also kind of need some advice.

It needs more lift in the front...

I could add a leaf to make it match the rear. then put in a 1 or 2 inch body lift for even more clearance.

OR should I just say chuck it and go spring over?
I don't have a front DS right now so I have to buy on anyway.
only thing that's stopping me is if I have to get high steer or cross over not sure what the proper name is.

heres some reference pictures of stance

I vote Spring over. You going to want to anyway and you don't have a driveshaft yet. Just makes sense!!

new fuel lines in (3/8 push lock return and send)and prepping tank to go back in.... 2 pin holes to fill turned to large welds. one is hard to see with the light, next time ill just patch them with some sheet metal. I also was surprised I didn't get any over spray on the tuck

here is what I pulled out of the space where the filler neck meets the body.... frozen mud....lots of fun

literally wasn't sure if I was hitting sheet metal with the chisel half the time it was so hard
