well im hoping start cutting the IFS sht out once i get afew more parts so i thougth i would start my build thread.

in breif the plan is to run the skys kit usa with rs 44044s and lpd44 SUA. Also an astro box with stock waggy pitman arm and most likely a dom drag link and tie rod in the stock waggy Y style, maybe blistic kit if it turns out to be around the same price of piecing it togeather. in the rear amc 20 spring over with stock springs and some 35 13.5 meats and 4.56 gears:D

so far in the front i got my low pinion dana 44 from a 80s or newer wagoneer. I cleaned it up and threw some paint on it. I repalced enough stuff to get them working properly but will be due for new seals and gears once i get the truck rolling. I also bought new calipers to be safe. also bought the skys front and rear hangers and the 44044 springs.

in the rear i got the amc 20 from the same jeep and instaleed a TSM disk brake conversion and ruggid ridge diff cover to replace the tin helmet that it had before ( which already had a hole in it). also needs rebuild but not yet.

Ill throw up some pics of the axles once i can find the camra cored. also IM sure ill have lots of questions for all of ya.

I'm partial to the channel and gusset idea as well.

i like how its so simple and seems to be very strong way to do it. and the fact that it hangs down doesnt bother me because i mostly trail ride.

NM what approximate size is that channel just for refference? i was thinking about using like 7" by .250 with 1.5" legs just guess really
bt the way your build is what I really planed mine off of...kinda hard to say that when you read them all but its saved in my favorits. I like how you planned it soo well before you stared

It has worked out really well for me. Like you I do more trail riding than crawling so I am not that worried about getting hung up.

The channel is 6" across with 2" legs and is about .250 thick. If you look through my photo bucket pics there is a pick of the channel all notched and ready laying under the truck just before I welded it on.

Feel free to ask any questions you may run into. Post up pics when you get started.

can't tell on the amc cause my phone won't let me zoom in enough but I believe you have the calipers backwards on the d44. the bleeder screws are supposed to point upwards. you'll never be able to bleed the breaks like that :p

I got them from my local 4x4 shop but you can order them from TSM MFG. I paid alittle more just to take some of the head ake away.

I think the site said it was from a sevil ( how ever you spell it) heres a link to the kit i got. http://www.tsmmfg.com/2460.htm good quality just wish it came with more brake line

just looked at that site. not too bad a price for the brackets. I made the last set I used and I think it was more headache that what it is worth. I have my lines made at a local tube and hose shop. it was like $50 bucks for 3 braided brake lines. BTW if you ever have to replace one of those rotors, a front rotor off a 88 chevy standard cab 4x4 will work with those calipers. the extended cab rotor is 1/16 too thick.

considering i never done it yet i cant give you a 100% answer but By reading threads i understand with the springs set at 31.5 CTC one side frame rail (not sure what one) the spring hanger will not contact it. im not the best person to ask yet...

PJG thanks for the heads up you wouldnt think there would be a difference between a ex cab and reg. also i was thinking about making my own because i have the fab skills but was getting a head ache just thinking about. Now i can just copie them if i ever wanna make a nother kit for a amc 20... which i never will most likely
