I wanted to raise my 2003 4.3 zq8 s10 back to stock height because I need more clearance where I drive. I went to rock auto and purchased Moog 80994 coil springs and some HUSKY Leaf Springs 221143. Before the lift my rear was 1.5" higher and now it's a little over 3" higher than the front. Looks weird raked that much. Very stiff ride also. I'm very surprised how high my truck lifted from these parts. Front measures 30" from bottom of tire to top of wheel well and 33" in rear.

I looked at Rockautos listing for 03 S10 pickup rear springs. A lot of the same thing over and over.
All but 1 appear to be either the HD springs which came on the Z85 HD rear suspension package or ZR2 springs.
The only ones I saw that appear to be standard duty are these:
DAYTON 221141 {#15996783}
Rear; 2/1 = 3 Leaf, 1-1/4" Pack Thickness, 995lb Rating
Why 3 leafs cost $50 more than 4 doesn't make any sense. But I think it's what your after.

You basically went from the softest rear spring GM offered with the ZQ8 package to the heaviest available.
My 99 has 3 leafs and is just your basic 4.3 RCSB. I have a ZR2 and another 99 with the Z85 springs. Both sit high in the rear and ride like dump trucks. Even put new shocks on the Z85 because my teethe were falling out.
Doesn't bounce quite as bad, but is more than necessary.

When I was shopping for stock height leaf springs at Oreilys, Auto Zone, ect, all the springs were rating 1350 lbs so I assumed that was your standard leaf spring that came on stock s10's. This bites as I am already invested over $500 in these springs after installation and I can't return them now.

I did the same thing OP. It rides terrible. Is there any solution besides taking an L and just buying the Dayton 221141? I am new to the s10 world and immediately made my first mistake lol.

So update, I pulled a leaf out and as of now it sits awesome and rides a lot better. Dunno if that’s the “correct” fix but seems to be alright as of now.
