I saw several options on rock auto and was wondering if any body knows offhand if this model will work with the 2002 v6 4x4 setup.

It's listed under that model on RockAuto, usually their catalog is pretty accurate. What are you confused about?

Looks identical to the one on my 03 even though I have a Duralast. So you should be good to go.

excellent, I was reluctant to pull the trigger because the price was low and no core charge. Really looked like a deal to good to be true, but it seems that it is just a good deal after all.

It is a good price and it is OEM if you are the type that prefers OEM only. I went with the Duralast because I used them in the past no issues and I like the lifetime warranty and prefer to be able to get stuff locally as much as possible instead of ordering online and waiting and then having to deal with returns if there is a problem.

It will probably be hard to find another AcDelco brand new for $100 elsewhere seems like a solid deal.

Also you should get your battery tested as well if your current alternator is actually bad because a bad battery can also take out the alternator.

AutoZone, O'reilly, etc will test it for free.
