is there anything wrong with the idea of removing one of the lead springs to get that extra 1"-2" inches?

I doubt you will have to remove the bump stop's, but if you hit it then remove it.
I have a leaf removed on my truck with a 4" block and their is no problem with removing a leaf but your truck will ride smoother and will lower more when weight is put in the bed.
