2000 S10 single cab with sub-par original carpet. my question for anyone who has bought and dealt with LMC truck carpet for our rigs simply is this; is it worth it? how's the quality, shipping, etc. Any info you guys can give me to inform my decision is appreciated. I also attached the part number that I think is correct so I can be set straight if it isn't.

for $150 bucks it is probbaly somewhat decent. If you want 'better' carpet visit your local upholsterer and have them make a carpet for your truck. then you can pick what material you want and quality... and best of all, itll be hand made to your truck. But, it'll probbaly start at $500 and go up from there. Last carpet i had made for a reg cab truck was $1200. It came with custom made floor mats as well.

I just did the carpet in my 98 extended cab this past fall, I went with the their high end extra plush with a mass backing. I was trying to quiet down the interior. It was way nicer than the stock carpet. I had originally tried getting the carpet through LMC, but they didn't have my color in stock, and couldn't even give me a date when it would be in stock

My only suggestion would be to make sure you take out your carpet in one piece so you can lay it over the new one to trim it to size. More Information for ACC 3242182

That's who and what I'd use. Great reputation over multiple classic car sites.

I sold the truck, otherwise I'd take another picture, but it shows the new carpet up against the stock carpeted back wall panel.

I do actually have a couple of other pieces of advice. If you do end up replacing your carpet, when pull up the door sills, don't. The clips that hold them in place go through the floor, tap them up from under the truck so that your not pulling the metal clip out by the thin plastic of the sill. Then when you are putting the sill back get yourself some thin safety wire or something similar and loop it through each of the sill clips. Then pull each one of those wires through the hole in the floor, and pull the wires downward as you tap the sill from above. This way you are guaranteed to have the clips lined and your much less likely to crack the sill.

The sills themselves are pretty thick, but on the back side where the clips attach it's super thin. Also if you decide to replace the clips, take Dremel to them and cut them off, your just going to mess up the sill trying to pull them off. The clips are about $3-4 each, and the only place I could find them was eBay. GM DOOR SILL SCUFF PLATE RETAINER KIT (QTY 10) 15711541 | eBay

Funny you mention the sill clips. I’ve actually had them off a few times in the past. once to take the carpet out in the past because car wash water got past the gaskets on the clips and soaked the carpet insulation (which I removed) and once just to clean the sill plates, and as a result I decided to buy a 10 pack from work because I work at a GM dealer. Good call to tap them up from the bottom though. I never thought of that.

That does not look terrible. Is it worn thin anywhere? If not, I suspect that carpet can be made to look much, much better with effective cleaning. A steam extractor would be helpful. Absent that, removal of the carpet makes cleaning much easier. I hung one up outside and cleaned it with a pressure washer and much undiluted Purple Power. Made a big difference. Would have turned out better had I soaked it with the cleaner and blasted it 4 or 5 times, but I wanted to return the washer to its owner and ran out of time with it in the evening. Some Folex spot treatment afterward helped with some of the most stubborn stains.

Its a decent carpet. Worth the price. I also used stockinteriors.com on one of my trucks. You have an option to get a heavier duty backing
