My interior light circuit is blowing it's fuse.
The fuse blows immediatelywhen you install it (10 amp), so it must be a dead short.

I've been puttin' in LONG hours all year since I bought the truck, and haven't gotten around to ordering a shop manual yet.
I'm gonna order a GM manual this weekend, but untill it gets here I got no wiring diagram and very little time to troubleshoot it.
I've never even had the dash open yet.

So, anybody got any info at all?

I'm wondering about the auto-shut-off timer circuit thingy that cuts the interior lights when you leave 'em switched on....
anybody know where that's located?

According to my Haynes manual,that fuse should be a 20 amp fuse.

Just use a piece of metal and shove it in there. Takes care of your problem with blown fuses!!!! LOL

A good place to start your search for the short is under the carpet kit where your heels rest wile they are on the pedals. The dome light wiring is right under your feet and i've seen several of them rub threw there. I'm not sure if this applies to every year.
