What Psyko said. Drop the column with 2 15mm nuts that hold it on. After the column is dropped, it will make things a heck of a lot easier for you since you don't have tilt steering.
Instrument Cluster Bezel Removal for a 97
My truck did not come with a tach, so i bought a stock instrument cluster with a tach on ebay that will fit. However, I cannot figure out how to remove the instrument cluster bezel. I have removed the two screws and popped out all the clips, but it keeps hitting the shifter. I have tryed putting the shifter all the way down in 1st gear, but it still not low enough. I have a 97 s10 pickup with a 4.3L and automatic on the column. I do not have tilt steering.
If anyone has any suggestions, I would very much appreciate it.
