My truck did not come with a tach, so i bought a stock instrument cluster with a tach on ebay that will fit. However, I cannot figure out how to remove the instrument cluster bezel. I have removed the two screws and popped out all the clips, but it keeps hitting the shifter. I have tryed putting the shifter all the way down in 1st gear, but it still not low enough. I have a 97 s10 pickup with a 4.3L and automatic on the column. I do not have tilt steering.

If anyone has any suggestions, I would very much appreciate it.

It's been a while since I've had my dash apart, but here's what I remember. You'll need to drop the column to get the cluster out. Remove the black plastic panel under the dash and the lower section of the dash under the column, and you will see two nuts that hold the column to the column support. Remove those and it will allow you to sit the steering wheel on the seat. After that I think there's about 4 or 5 torx head screws that hold the cluster in. Remove those and the cluster should slide right out.

yea and dont even try to take out the dash bezel without dropping the column. If you snap the hazard switch, its a pricey fix. It can be done, but your better off going the easy way out and dropping the column
The haz switch fix is $20...
