I'm trying to remove my ignition cylinder but it's stuck.

So a while back I replaced the ignition cylinder on my 89 S10. However, the new one I bought didn't have the little wedge on the cylinder that the pin/screw goes through. So after I put in the new cylinder, I tried putting the little screw back where it went but it didn't wanna go in. I started looking for a solution and I moved the ignition around and something clicked and the cylinder stayed in place without the screw. I knew this meant it was probably stuck now but I didn't care since I considered the issue fixed. I put the little screw aside because I didn't think I needed it.

Now I'm trying to remove the cylinder but I can't figure out how. Every YouTube video I see they always remove the little screw and take out the cylinder with ease. But mine doesn't even have the little screw in and I still can't remove the cylinder. I have the key and the ignition turns just fine. I just want to know how to remove it just in case. Any help?

Have you tried pulling the switch out in every position?
It appears as tho there is a small spring loaded clip at the end of the cylinder that may have popped into some place inside the housing. It should retract in one spot.
If you can get a pic in there you might be able to release it. If not you can get the whole new hosing from Rockauto.
Have you removed the wheel, lock plate and turn signal switch yet?

I am knee deep in the same problem !! I have never taken apart so many stages and pieces to just wind up defeated !!! The cylinder won’t come out.. but what screw are you referring too? One that’s in that little hole your supposed to press in with a pin or whatever? Dang !!!
