quick question:

from what I've read, when one uses the power programmer on their vehicle, the unit "marries itself" to the vehicle via the vehicle identification number, at least that's what it says at Hypertech's web site. Occassionally you see a programmer for sale on Ebay or other auction sites, the owner claims if you reprogram the truck back to "stock" or default settings, the programmer may be used on any other truck,

does this sound right to any of you pros? :dunno:

buy a used HPP3?

my real question is should I buy a 7 mo. old Hypertech PP3 off the internet? Will it work for my 97 S10 4.3? the model number is 360202. At Hypertech's site, the model number is now 390202 or something like that, is there anyone out there that can set me straight? thanks guys.

in addtional surfing have found that the actual model of programmer for 97 S10 is 370202. Is there a difference between 360202 and 370202, besides the math?
