Hey guys I was wondering if there was a way to siphon out gas/water from the tank? Just bought a 99’ s10 and the guy said it sat for an Year so that makes me believe there’s water in the tank. The fuel gauge isn’t working properly so that’s also making me think that. I don’t want the engine to get damaged. It’s the 2.2 Liter 4 Cylinder. Any ideas on what I should do? Sorry for being misinformed, I mostly deal with my Miata lol.

If you are that concerned and depending on miles I would replace the fuel module. Rather than dropping the tank I personally would pull the bed off - siphon or pump the fuel out.

Easy if you have a tractor, engine hoist, or a few friends. Remove eight bolts, filler neck, and taillights. Lift it off.

The bed is light I removed mine by myself on a '99 I used to have. Had to replace the fuel level sender which includes fuel pump. With fuel sender out you can look inside tank and clean if needed.
