How much real horsepower gain do you get with the Hypertech Power Programmer? How much different is the 87 and 93 octane modes. Are there any dyno results besides the one hypertech uses when testing the gains of the programmer?

At 87, you may see 5 h.p.- 91+ it'll add enough timing to make it MAYBE 10 h.p.
If you plan on running a IAT mod, maybe playing with the MAF screen, lower Tstat, CAI kit and a few others, dont bother with the hypertech. The timing has a max to it which cannot be overuled byt the HPP3 unit and those other mods will max it alone. Thats why some say the HPP3 does nothing, in those cases it cant, it was made for a stock vehicle even though Hypertech says it works with other mods, no it doesnt!!

hmm i c so if u had a really good intake and you were already getting getting 10 horse then the progrMMER WOULD BE USELESS?

the programmer also allows you to change shift points and the rev limit in an auto as well as change the top speed and firmness of shift and tiresize to help with your speedometer being correct

Not entirely on its own. See anything that would alter the stock timing curve to the advanced side would negate areas of the HPP3 timing advancement. CAI since they flow air in at higher rates and cooler by nature will add about 1 degree. HPP3 programs do 3 max, so the CAI plus whatever, once you get to 3 degrees, the HPP3 becomes useless. There shifting leaves alot to be desired and some have ruined trannies using it!!

the main advantage is the other features rather the the power program it gives. if your trans dies from changing shift points, there were other problems with it then.
