INSTEAD OF USING ZIP TIES, JUST MAKE SOME SMALL TABS OUT OF METAL, 'GLASS, A BROKEN GRILLE, ETC...AND THEN ATTACH THEM TO THE GRILLE SHELL(ABOVE THE OPENING, AND BELOW IT) MAKE YOUR GRILLE BIG ENOUGH THAT YOU LEAVE ABOUT 3/4 OF AN INCH ON THE TOP AND BOTTOM. THEN JUST USE SCREWS AND WASHERS BIG ENOUGH TO COVER THE HOLES IN THE MATERIAL(I AM ASSUMING YOU GUYS ARE TALKING ABOUT MAKING LIKE A SPEED GRILLE TYPE INSERT). ZIP TIES WILL STILL JIGGLE, AND CHIP YOUR PAINT, NOT TO MENTION BE A LITTLE TACKY ON A BRAND NEW TRUCK. IF IT WAS SOME OLD PEICE OF SH-T I COULD UNDERSTAND...LOL
IF MY EXPLANATION IS HARD TO UNDERSTAND, LET ME KNOW. SORRY BOUT THE CAPITALS, JUST NOTICED CAPS LOCK WAS STUCK ON....
haha, i was thinking the same thing but i already have a speed grille insert for my valance and i was lookin at home depot and the gutter guards didnt really look like it so i am kinda screwed. unless . . . i take out my grille i have on right now and make all new ones from the guards. but if you do decide to do it send some pics so i can see how it looks because i do not want to spend 200 for the two other grilles i need.
The gutter stuff cost me a buck fifty for a peice. It came that color but later on I might make another one and paint it. Here is a pic I just took of it on my truck. I didnt bolt the grill down yet because im waiting on the red and black bowtie. Let me know what you guys/gals think.
I used black ties for the bottom. If you place them far enough back you wont see them at all. I bent the upper part in place so its pretty solid. I was thinking of using a sort of wire but I just stuck with the ties instead.
