Hi I was wondering if i could make my own tailgate skin for my 91 s10? My buddy has a metal bender (only can do bends not curves and stuff) SO could i get him to make two 90 degree bends and then slide that pieace of sheet metal over the tailgate and weld or body lue it in?
OR do the premaid 1st gen tailgate skins have body curves in them?
Where do you weld the skin in?
any help would be awsome!

A guy in my town made a skin for his first gen out of some sheet metal, i dont see why you couldn't, i dont know what you're talking about the 90 degree bends though, that would make it totally flat on top right? there is a little curve in the top of the stock gate though correct, who knows, find a used one at a junkyard and try it out!

making one is alot harder than it sounds. the metal on the tailgate isnt flat, so you have to roll it a little bit. if you want to go find a tailgate at a junkyard and try it, that would be okay, but i think once you try that, you will just want to go and buy one. i have tried to make my own, and needless to say there are some things that you just shouldn't be cheap over.
