This is from the 2000 S-truck service manual. Real helpful huh?
(Actually The top center defroster grille just pops in with retainer clips)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Use a flat-bladed tool to remove the windshield defroster grille.

If the vehicle is equipped with a sunload sensor, twist the sunload sensor 1/4 turn counterclockwise in order to detach it from the windshield defroster grille.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sorry I can't find the A/C outlet in there.

the passenger side vent is a biotch. you have to take the WHOLE dash off to get to the one bolt that holds it on. took me a while to figure that out. but it looks good when it is painted!!
