This is to any un-bias peeps , I have a 2000 s10 single cab , I have done bags before on several different trucks and I was wondering if hydros are worth the effort to build, I would love to hop a bit off the ground and 3 wheel but I have been reading a lot that hydros are a headache. Also if I do hydros do I need to
c notch the frame and do you have to extend the arms? Thanks for y'all insite

i never did a s10 with hydros but worked on a few cars hydros arent that bad just keep your batteries charged and depends on how powerful you want your set up 2 pumps with 36 to 48 volts is basic. im not sure with a c notch pretty sure u do if u wanna drive low and extending the a arms are needed if u wanna drive locked up and not have crazy wear on your tires

what is ‘a bit off the ground’? Because you can hop about 12” off the ground and 3 wheel on air as well.
do I need to c notch the frame
no you don’t need to. Depends on how low you go and what size wheels you ride on..
do you have to extend the arms
no extending the uppers is not necessary, it give more ‘lift’ when hopping, and that’s about it.

ihydros arent that bad
this is true. They are fun, but on a daily driver you can’t beat air. But if you ask 30 different people, you will get 30 different answers..

I daily drove on hydros for 2 years, honestly they get a bad rep and if installed right are on par with bags.Other then charging batterys 2-3 a month max and checking fluid every once in a while I had no issues with them.

juice can be just as reliable but like anything else the more you push it the more problems you will have. more power you run the more you'll be burning up motor and solenoids. i run a 2 pump 3 dump setup on my 2000 s10 and it's cylinders on coils on all 4 corners. rides great, and haven't had any problems since installed in july 2012. i've only put a few thousand miles on the setup since then. ive left the truck up for a week and it didn't leak one bit. i recommend getting all new parts and getting cylinders that have poly pack seals in them. if youre wanting to hop and 3 wheel daily i think whether you have air or juice youre asking for problems at some point.

Hello,
I Had A Hydro shop For Over 10yrs Back When Lowriding An Mini Truckn First Got Real Popular On The East Cost / Mid West.
Air Ride Has Come Along way Since Then .
Hydros Are What They Are.. You Get A Ruffer Ride, More Maintence Forsure. An All depends On What You Want Your Truck To Do. A- Arm Extensions Id Say Yes Too. No Matter What. Its Hard To 3 Wheel A S10 Or Any Vehicle With Leaf Spring Rear Suspension. So Id Say 4 Link It Forsure If You Wanna 3 Wheel. I Totally Recommend Frame Reinforcement If You Hop Or 3 Wheel A Vehicle. Twisting An Hopping Causes Much Stress On Frames An Other Parts. The Frame Is The Back Bone To Any Vehicle. An No Stock Vehicle Was Built To Take The Abuse. If You Get A Leak With Hydros Its Oil. If You Get A Leak With Bags Its Air. Ive Built 100's Of Trucks An Cars . Hope I Helped Some .John AKA Lowroder
