hello guys,i am new here,ok i just bought a 96 s10 2.2,i have this coolant smell,no leaks or overheating,and my passenger floor was damp,so upon reading here i think its the heater core,i am low on cash for the moment so i wanted to know if these were the two hoses that i need to bypass the heater core?...thank you

Tes that is the 2 hoses for the heater core in the second pic, going into the fire wall.

ok just making sure..,im just supposed to connect these two hoses together for the bypass right?...thanks

Im not 100% sure on the connecting, I just know they are the 2 heater core hose's I have never done this, maybe someone else can chime in here.

yea you would just connect those 2 together

dorman makes the joint for it. It's just a 3/4" to 5/8"

the smaller hose from the water pump isn't exactly 5/8" (its .59") so youll have to really work on getting the joint on there....

If you plan at any point replacing the heater core... DO NOT CUT THE HOSES. They are dealer only overpriced parts... .about 60 buck a pop. So if you can manage it just try to make it straight through.
