Looking for pics of how much one needs to grind the center axle block when installing a Zexel with 4.10 gears... I assume it will hit the ring gear teeth and bind. Do you need to grind the center face, outside face or just the raised area?

Grind it till it fits.

he's right on. if you have the black colored one, it's going to take alot, but just as long as you don't grind where the c-clips go you are fine. the light grey colored one's take alot less grinding, i've done both.

But will grinding too much throw the entire rear carrier off balance?

not enough to notice. just grind alittle at a time until it goes in. no more than necessary.
