I've got a 93 gmc sonoma 2dr regular cab that i'm doing a bunch of modifications to. I got an eclipse 54110 head unit and some 4x10 pioneer speakers in the corners. I've blown the front speakers and need new ones. any recommendations?
I just bought me a pair of Pioneer 4x6 tsg at Circuit City. I think they sound great for the price of about $48. It took me a full weak to break them in. I love them. It would go well with your 4x10 Pioneers already.
Get some woodshop tools and a dremel tool and drill
Cut some MDF mounting rings and cover them in carpet or paint them.
cut a hole in the door accordingly.
Mount then MDF ring snugly to the door using 4 screws and then use short screws to mount the mid to the ring.
The point of the mounting is to add depth and cover the jagged hole that you cut in the door for clearance as well as being a solid surface to mount the speaker.
Pull the door skin off before you do any cutting, so you don't cut into the window track.
It'd be a good idea to do a little sounddeadening while you are doing that.
oh yeah, measure twice and cut once!
