by the way (whoring my own thread) slammeddime... how are the viair 380c compressors? do you know much about them? they are rated at 200 psi. however, i would just like to run 180 daily... i figure that i can sacrifice a little fill speed by getting these... and yet be able to run 180 daily and not go over max psi on the 450c and not reach max psi on the 380c. i may be retarded but hey thats what you are for... to edgamacate me!

1/8" Line doesn't come DOT approved, because it is not required to be by the DOT/SAE code. It is made the same way tho, and will burst at 1200 PSI, approx, so there will be no problem running it....

As far as the 380c.... I'd never run one.

If I recall correctly, the CFM @ 0 PSI, is around 1.49??? Lets compare that to the 350c that has a CFM of 1.48 @ 0 PSI. So they are about equal, so it'd be fair to say that the CFM at 150 PSI is about .60, since the 350c is .58. As pressure increases, CFM decreases. Just for arguments sake, lets say the average CFM/PSI drop is .00593 CFM per PSI. Without displaying all the math BS, that means that at 200 PSI, the pump would be putting out approx .30 CFM. Thats not a lot, not at all, and filling a 5 gallon tank from 145-175, for example, would take about 5 min. IMO, thats too long of a time frame, so imagine going from 150-200... or even 0-200!!! That would take well over 12 minutes. And do you think that while that tank is refilling, that you won't hit any switches at all?? I know I do, quite often, which is one reason i like the 450's, because they have a higher duty cycle, so I don't have to worry about puttin an extra minute or two on my fill time.

Just my .02. These numbers are based on assumptions, which could be pretty close, or could be way off, for good or bad. If I had some real numbers to work with, I might be able to be a lil more precise. Viair doesn't have any info on their site yet.

Only place I've seen this "380c" is on ebay. I can't find it on viair's site anywhere, is it on there? I agree with matt tho. At 200 psi, it ain't gonna be puttin out shit. It takes the 450s a good bit longer to fill 145-175 than they did at 110-145. Not sure how much, I'll time it someday, but I can only imagine the slowness if I tried to push it to 200.

ok now how much are those tee fittings with the drilled and tapped gauge feed from irsd_mini. so if it is a 1/2 fitting... it has 3 1/2 openings... and a drilled and taped opening for 1/8 compression. is this right? i saw that someone had crosses that were 4 1/2 openings... i think...

PM him and ask him... they're a few bucks I think.. It's just a basic T that has a tapped opening for a gauge line fitting.

i know what you mean... but i have everything i need for 5/8 and 1/2 fittings from work and this tee from irsd_mini is the only thing i need so i will be willing to pay a little extra for 1/2 tee's instead of 3/8. i know it wont slow you down but i dont want to have more fittings than neccesary.
