What gas mileage are y'all getting and what tires are you running?

I'm getting around 26 on my s10 with a manual 5spd 4 cyl 4wd with 4.11 gears.
Years ago (like 30yrs) when I got the truck, the motor always whined like it needed another gear while in 5th.
Took it to a transmission shop and the guy said he could swap out the 5th gear for a more road friendly cruising gear.
Afterwards, I can go into 5th and rpm's drop big time. I can run it 80mph and it's still cadillacing without the high rpm whine.
Oh, I'm running Michelin ltx m/s 225/75r15 road tires.

Anywhere from 10-30 mpg. You didn't give us anything to go on. Post year, engine, transmission, 2 or 4wd and we'll move it to the correct area.

I get about 17 on the highway and about 13-14 in town. I have a solid axle swap on 33” tires with about a 6” lift. The truck is a 4.3l manual.
Currently: 96 4wd XCab, 85 2wd S15 XCab, 82 2wd lwb Sport, 95 2wd Jimmy w/95 LT1

What is your differential gear ratio in the vehicle you mention? And, not knowing what 5 speed you're using, I assume that your 5th gear is overdrive. Do you recall what your rpm's are at cruise, say 70mph? Just curious, thinking about what to do with a truck that's sitting here waiting for me. I love that the bigger motor gets better mileage, it's no surprise of course.
