'95 GMC Jimmy AWD w/GMPP HT383, vortec heads, truck cam, 770 holley and 700R4 with 3.42 grears, daily driver.
I get better highway milage with the V8, then I did with the stock 4.3L CPI.
I get 20 to 22.5 highway, if I keep it under 75mph, otherwise about 18mpg. About 14-16mpg around town. Single digits, if I get throttle happy.
I once averaged 22gph towing 8'x5' enclosed U-haul, loaded with gear (approx. 3000lbs) on a 500 mile road trip!

i was just wondering, cuz my 93 cpi/tbi hybrid gets about 15 on the freeway if i baby it...(4.3) and i really wanna drop a mild 350 in my 95.. im gettin power hungry, now that i know what torque feels like. ( the 95 has a 2.2) i dont know for sure yet what im gonna do, the 2.2 at best only ever got about 24mpg. and if i put another banger in it, im gonna change the rear gears to probly 4.11's with 225/60 tires. just so the damn thing can get up to speed on the on ramp.
