okay im trading a guy my 1966 barracuda for a 96 s10 with hydros its running on 6 batterys its a 2pump system. the motor is a 2.2 4cyl what should my gas mileage be?

It's just an odd year. It was when everything was switching to obdII, the worst part about a 96 is that 90% of the time it can only receive parts from a 96 this can prove tough as they are getting older. The computers can't be tuned because, well, they're a 96. If it was me I'd steer clear of it. Either go newer or older. Unless its a 4.3 then it'd prolly be fine.

Oh I thought that you ment that they had major problems. finding parts for me is okay. the car that im trading you cant get aftermarket parts with out spending BIG money.

The 96 S10 that scared Laidoutvideo is mine.
Its a good truck,unless something kinda major goes out. And then your calling all the junk yards in town asking if they have a 96. And then you get, oh si. We have a 97. And then your all, no. I has to be a 96. And then there like, ya. 96 and 97 are the same. And then you'll be like, no dick face. There not!! And and at this point he just hangs up on you.
So I have came to the conclusion. Friends don't let friend buy 96 2.2 S10s.

But to answer you original question, the hydros won't affect the gas millage. Your right foot will control that the most. But I get 20 MPG around town with mine and 22/23 on trips out of town.

You left out the really shitty part about it jus randomly having problems and the not being able to tune the comp to eliminate things that are un needed.

Ya. As long as he knows he can't do any big power adders like a turbo, cam, high compression pistons, a chip or programmer.....basically anything but a air intake and header. He should be fine.

yea I dont want big power. i got the truck saturday and it runs great. i was runnig about 85 all the way home and thats a lil over a hour drive
