I had a ses light come on yesterday and had it checked.

here they are as follow:

P0147: the last o2 sensor was reading wrong

P0339: The crank position sensor was reading intermitently

I am assuming that because the crank sensor was jiggling, it was loosing connection and causing the engine to stall which in turn made the o2 sensor read wrong.

My question is this, does a loss of connection on the crank sensor cause the engine to stall?

It can because it controls your spark on the distributor...

the crank sensor also controls when the fuel injectors open up

Anytime the crank sensor (or electrical connection) fails the engine will not run.
It is essential for operation.
