Just bear with me on the updates since I'm workin full time and back in school now. Let me know what you think

Laid out but I got everything worked out last weekend and it's all good now. I just had to move my cross member towards the cab 6" and re do my bottom bars and wishbone so they are longer now. I cycled it and it is much better now. Got the bottom bag brackets tacked on, everything re built, and started to get the top cups tacked together and tube bent for those. I'll have to post some pics next weekend.
Does having the link bars bent do anything weird to it? Looks sharp.
glad you got it figured out, i havent dealt with it too much but from everything i've read and the lil bit i have dealt with on my own junk, everything seems go with when you set it up laid out completely, you will have more drastic of a change from full lift to full drop than if you set it up in the middle of your range. less pinion change, less axle movement, etc. and all that is more noticeable with shorter bars.

No I was getting all the movement because my bottom bars were only 25" long. So with them being that short it was pushing too much. So now they are 31" long and it only moves 3/4" through travel. I got some more doNE yesterday on it I'll post this pic I took. And thanks guys I appreciate it. I'm glad I'm back workin on it again. Should be a rolling chassis this summer.

Ya that's what I found out too is that I should have set it up at half travel but it's good now so I'm not gonna mess with it anymore. It'll be good to go. Thanks for gettin back though man ?
no problem bro, nice to see its getting worked on, wheres the new pics tho lol

So I did new bottom link bars, wishbone, bag brackets and started gettin the upper cups all connected. But this is the only pic I have right now but this weekend I'll make more progress.

i hate to even say anything bcuz your work is so far beyond mine, but...isnt havent the bag so far offset from the bar gonna twist and destroy the bushings? the first design u had, the bag was centered over the bar, no twisting. or are you using delrin or metal bushings to try and counter that?

I had to bend the bottom bars so they would mount correctly on the axle cause everything is so tight in there since I narrowed my rear end. So with them being bent I had to offset my bag plates so they weren't over the frame for when that raises up, but to answer your question Im sure they'll be fine with the top cups being stiff like that. I don't think there will be enough pressure to really try to twist how you'd think. They're not offset alot either some of the bag is over the bar still. If any of that makes sense haha
yea i see what you saying sorta lol-i dont think the top cups matter in reference with the bottom bar twisting when you fill the bag, but it could just be the pic too, cuz it looks like none of the bag is directly above the lower bar. i see why you did it like that for sure, its a tight fit in there. shame its all gonna be hidden, its coming out really good

Ya it's not completely centered over the bar but some of the bag is still over it. If it messes it up I can always change it up. I should get bags on it this weekend so I'll see what it does then. If I don't like it I'll switch something up. Unfortunately that's the only pic I took too haha

Aaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwww! lol
And I'm doing an open bed floor so it won't be hidden at all actually
Delrin bushing ? Like a high misalignment heim ?
sweet, idk why i thought it would be hidden lol

no delrin is like a hard...composite material. would be in the same shape as the rubber bushing but be stronger than the rubber so it would resist the flex better from the bar twisting. idk if it'd work, or destroy the bushing. just thinking out loud.

but the bag situation i thought you had was an exaggeratted version of this

which would cause this https://www.instagram.com/p/BOc0Zh_j5xH/ to some extent, everytime the bag had air in it.

which would usually equal premature bushing wear.

Ya I found some delrin bushings local actually I'm gonna pick up. I actually follow him on ig too surprised I never saw that haha. If I have them centered over the bar the bag will be over hanging and I'm afraid the frame will hit it when I air up. I'm gonna mess with it and see what I can come up with. I really didn't give that much thought into it when I came up with that bracket haha good thinkin man I appreciate it
no problem, i picked up a few knowledgeable things going thru your pics, happy to be able to return the favor. i want to redo my whole frame after seeing what youve done lol

yea that dude on ig is pretty smart, i hope his book comes out soon. its not like its black magic, i'm pretty sure dudes like jason @ thorbros, bobby @ sadistic, taylor at mmw, all those dudes and more know all this crap but theyre busy running shops, nobody has put it in a book specific to air ride that i know of.

Haha its alot of work but worth. And thank you. Ya I actually hit him up earlier and sent him some pics and he told me to run a line from ctr of bushing to ctr of other bushing and that's where my bag should be and no more than 1" offset to the side and I'll be good to go with out destroying bushings. So I'll do that this weekend and get it done up. He also said he's shooting for the summer for his book to be released so be on the lookout.

Jesus I'm glad I came back and checked in! This thing never lets me down. I'm glad you're back working on it. My piece of input on the bushing/bag thing is my bags are offset on the lower bars from the dead center of the bar by probably almost 2 inches (that's a guess but pretty close). The reason for doing that was the same as yours. Also, I couldn't put a cup on the lower bars to raise the bag up and center it because the my upper bars would have been too high to clear. So I made a flat plate with gussets and it hangs off the side of the lowers. I've had that set up since around 2010. Probably put a few thousand miles on it since then, but my bushings don't look worn at all. I got them from Suicidedoors.com so whatever they sell is what they are. That's just my experience with it. I'm not saying it's right, but if you aren't planing on burning the miles up on this, I personally haven't had a problem with premature wear that I can tell.

Hey what's up man thanks a lot and glad to see you check in haha its been a while for the both of us. So I actually figured it all out last night and today and got more progress. Got the bags where they should be and started to get the top cups all done and tacked in. I'm hoping I'll get far tomorrow and be able to put the bags on to cycle it before I burn it all in. I'll be sure to take some pics for this and instagram. This has definitely tested my tube abilities and brain working in a tight space but it's turning out.
